  • I grew up in a small, beautiful village in Zimbabwe. There I learned strong values like relationships, kindness, and hard work. But it was dangerous to challenge oppression. I saw a lot of injustice.

  • As the youngest of seven, I often felt invisible. Though I was loved and spoiled, I became quiet because I found it difficult to find and express my voice to be heard. At a young age, I began to navigate pain alone.

  • Immigrating didn’t help. I looked and sounded different. I struggled to fit in. I didn’t have the support system that I did back home, so my confidence disintegrated.

  • As I struggled to find my voice in Canada, three of my siblings and my son passed away. My mental health spiraled into grief, loneliness, and self-doubt. I struggled to find purpose and settled into despair.

  • Social work immediately resonated with me. It ignited a sense of passion. I found validation, resources, and opportunities that equipped me to overcome my past and help others along the way. My ancestors’ legacy of perseverance, faith, and hard work was restored. I had found my purpose!

  • My experience with grief and loss, oppression, and silence gives me authenticity and empathy with my clients. I’m driven to facilitate healing as a companion for individuals, families, and marginalized communities in pain.

  • My goal is to be a leader in aiding individuals, business leaders, companies and communities to overcome their mental health challenges and elevate their mental well-being.

  • I love spending time in nature, riding my bike with family, jogging, singing, and engaging in spirited debates with friends over good food from my homeland.
